Graduating is a big deal! Years of time, effort, money, tears, and so much more have led up to this single moment.

Capturing it is worth every penny.

Isn't Everyone Getting Pictures Done At Once?

Yes, they are! Mid April to Mid May is incredibly busy at the Arizona Old Main Fountain especially. People quite literally will line up for their couple minutes at the fountain, and not everyone gets that gorgeous golden hour light.

My personal suggestion when clients are wanting graduation photos done here, especially with the fountain in mind, is booking in Late March to Early April. I had one couple who were both graduating last year get their graduation photos done the first few days of April. It was a weekend and yet we had the whole campus to ourselves! We did not fight with anyone over the fountain, took our time, and got a variety of shots.

What If I Can't Book Early?

That's ok! Another option is to schedule your session for an evening during the week, Monday-Wednesday particularly. Weekdays, especially early in the week, tend to be much less busy. Although, as May gets closer those days can get a bit more crowded too. Still, they won't be anywhere near as crowded as a weekend at golden hour. Booking earlier in the day is also an option if weekends are the only time you can make work. The light isn't optimal though unless it is overcast, and there could be some shadows or squinting. Sunrise or early morning is another option that would eliminate any lighting issues, if you're up to get up!

Dead Set On A Saturday Sunset In May?

Okay! Then let's do it. We will just be prepared to wait courteously for other graduates and their photographers and work around the business. We've done it before and we can do it again. It's less about the photographer and more about making sure you have a good, peaceful, and fun time! We are just here to make what you want happen, whatever that may be.
